Former Ethiopian Military commander General Samora had been reinstated by the order of the prime minister. The General was honorably discharged from his position on June 7th, 2018 with medals presented by the PM.
Disagreement between journalist and artist on gofundme account
Journalist Elias Meseret and artist Bethelhem Dagnachew had a dispute a gofundme account created by a woman for her husband suffering from leukemia. The journalist had posted on his social media page about the artist’s gofundme page for the patient whose wife had no idea about. The artist claimed that she had tried to message the journalist but found out she was blocked. She stated that it was due to her speaking out about her ethnicity. The journalist also took to his page that he is confused on how his actions have anything to do with her ethnicity.
Escaped prisoner from maximum security prison was found dead
A Ride chauffer accepted a call from two men and got pushed out of his car at gun point. The two men got into an accident and police arrive at the scene to find one them dead. The body belonged to Samuel Abdurahman who was serving an 18 year sentence for Grand theft since 4 years ago. The prisoner escaped the maximum security prison on Mesk 25, 2012
Jigjiga residents in Sululta suffer from lack of pure water
3000 people who were displaced to Sululta by the dispute in Somali region raised concerns over lack of sanitary water. They stated that they are vulnerable to the pandemic since they do not have access to pure water and have to walk for many miles to get it.
Balderas party requests a monument
The Balderas party led by Eskinder Nega has requested a monument for those who have fallen victims of the 1997 riots in Addis Ababa. The youth of the capital who saw hope for a fair election were massacred 15 years ago.
