Home remedy to remove cracked heels This common condition occurs in women more than men. At first, the uppermost skin starts to crack and is painless. However, throughout time the crack deepens and becomes painful. It may cause limping, bleeding and infections. Lack of moisture and exposure to dirt and mud are the most common causes of cracked heels. Other causes could be frequenting sandals and walking barefoot. By washing thoroughly, applying moisturizing cream and wearing socks, you can prevent it. Immerse your feet in warm water as opposed to hot water while foot bathing. Use only body soaps as tough soaps contain different chemicals that may cause the heels to crack. Wear comfortable shoes such as sneakers more frequently. Here are some home remedies for cracked heels. 1. Honey: honey can be used to easily heal cracked heels as it has antibacterial and softening properties. Lemon: mix lemon juice with warm water, a little shampoo and glycerin. Massage thoroughly and rinse. Then apply glycerin or lotion and wear socks. Do this every month or two weeks.
