A lot of people in the world suffer from insomnia. Insomnia is the term used to describe the inability to get sufficient amount of sleep. Insomnia causes people to be drowsy all the time, suffer from headaches, fatigue and emotional instability. Insomnia is categorized into two; Acute insomnia and chronic insomnia. Acute insomnia is lack of sleep for several days or weeks. Whereas chronic insomnia is lack of sleep for more than a few months.
As listed before people suffering insomnia suffer from fatigue, depression and general emotional instability.
What causes insomnia?
There are a lot of factors contributing to lack of sleep, but some of the main problems are the following, stress, mental disorders, a habit of getting very little sleep, uncomfortable living environment, change in living style, too much caffeine consumption, some kind of diseases and respiratory problems.

Remedy #1: Camu Berry
Camu as its widely used not only is good for making spicy food but also helps in facilitating digestion. In addition, Camu is a good remedy for diabetes, cancer, asthma and other respiratory problems. But the best use of Camu is in treating insomnia.
Preparation: take one spoon of Camu powder and pieces of s sliced Bananas, then boil them together. Take the boiled water and drink it before sleep. If don’t have access to Camu powder, you can take Camu Berry, roast ad grind it to make a powder.
Remedy #2: Nutmeg
Nutmeg is not a widely known seed. But it is available I supermarkets and other markets, especially in Addis Ababa. And in the Arab world, the advantages of Nutmeg are known, so its widely used. Nutmeg is rich with, potassium, iron and magnesium. Hence, its useful for better skin, digestive system, brighter brain, circulation system. On top of all this uses, it is very much useful; for insomnia.
Preparation: Take half a spoon of Nutmeg and mix it with a glass of milk and drink it before sleep.
Remedy #3: Chamomile tea
Chamomile teas is well known for relaxing our body and having a smarted mind. In Ethiopia, we use Chamomile tea to relief stomach pain for small children. In addition, Chamomile tea has been scientifically proven to help with insomnia. The chemical found in Chamomile tea called Apigenin is plays a huge role in relieving insomnia.
Preparation of Chamomile teas is very simple. Just prepare it as a regular teas and drink one cup before bed. You can use, honey or Cinnamon as a sweetener.
Remedy #4: Bananas
The other remedy for insomnia is the very widely available fruit, Banana. Tryptophan, an amino acid compound, is a chemical found in Bananas which very helpful in treating insomnia. Tryptophan helps our body produce a hormone called serotonin. And this Serotonin hormone is used by our body to maintain a heathy sleep system. Bananas are rich with potassium, calcium and iron. Which are good for treating insomnia. In addition, bananas have many more health benefits, some of which are, reducing proneness to blood pressure and heart problems, facilitating digestive process, relieving depression, increasing bone strength, combating gastric inflammation. etc.
Remedy #5: Green Tea
Green teas is famous for being a health drink. In addition to keeping our body active, green tea is helpful in increasing our brain’s processing power. Green tea in furthermore is used to burn fat in our body, preventing cancer especially, Urinary tract, intestine and breast cancer.
People who consume green tea in abundance are less prone to be affected by age related memory problems like dementia. Because this miraculous tea frees up our mind, it will enable us to get a peaceful adequate sleep.
