The republic’s security force, which has the responsibility to provide safety and protection for higher government officials, has officially begun its job after six months of training. Being the first of its kind in Ethiopia, the republic’s security force has showed its readiness to serve by performing stunts for the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed. The performance emphasized on fending off attacks and protecting higher government officials while also serving the constitution and respecting constitutional rights.
Brigade General Birhanu Bekelle commented that the need for such military stunt performance is to relieve worries and doubts of higher government officials for the security force is very capable and ready to protect them while they do their jobs. It is also a warning for those who have malicious intentions towards the officials.
The newly reformed security force performed stunts varying from one-on-one combats to air stunts and it shows clearly that the members of the force are in capable and good shape. Other members of the security force have commented that through the training that took six months, they had been able to build up their confidence and courage in the face of adversity and that this training had been very critical for them.
The highly fit and capable security force not only provides protection and safety for higher government officials, but also their families as well.
