Taye Dende’a speaks on behalf of OPP
Oromo Prosperity Party’s public relations person Taye Dende’a made a statement on the recent meetings that the party held. The meetings focused on thoroughly examining the success and hindrances of the party. Taye stated that even though the three suspended officials were with the party from the start and through tough times, measures must be taken to correct the mistakes they had made and if those mistakes yield no legal issues, they are always welcome to return to the party.
On the matter of the leaked audio tape of Shimelis outrageous speech, Taye said that he was made aware of the tape through Facebook. He had attended every party meeting, however, he had failed to pinpoint when this shocking speech was made. The Prosperity Party, as Taye said, does not condone the things which it fought to overcome in the past system, which are fascism and nationalism. Critics, however, deem Taye unreliable as his statements made in Afaan Oromo and Amharic differs significantly. They demand that the party should deny or confirm whether Shimelis’s opinion is the position of the party or not.
The meetings have been said to examine the internal and external hindrances of the Prosperity Party. The party blames TPLF and OLF Shene for trying to create unrest and destruction within the Oromo region. Internally, officials who have neglected their duties and those with other agendas have been blamed for the issues. These officials will be held accountable for their actions.
