We can say there is hardly a single person who hasn’t been a victim of headaches. Headache is any pain arising from the head (excluding eyes and ear pain) and the bottom of our neck. In addition to being a symptom for a lot of illnesses, Headache by itself can be a disease.

It can also be an indication of a deadly disease. When headache is a disease by itself it can appear in 3 ways.  These are, Migraine, cluster headache and tension headache.

From these three tension head ache appears in women rather than men.  migraines affect many people following tension headache. This type of head ache can affect adults and children. Before purity, both men and women are equally affected. After that the number of women affected increases. 16% of men and 18% of women are a victim of this.

Migraine is a more serious type of headache and it can be genetically transmitted. This type of headache has intense pinging pain.  The pain is usually experienced on one portion of the head. It could be the front, could be on the side, it could he at the back. Usually the left or the right head side is affected. But one-third of migraine victims experience pain on both sides. Migraine pains alternate between left and right. If the pain persists only on one side of the head, it could be a sign of other diseases like brain tumor. Along with the headaches migraines come with nausea, vomiting, paleness, coldness, sensitivity to light and sound.

Cluster headache

This type of headache affects a person consistently for a week or a month then stops. But It comes back again after a while.

Cluster headache bothers patients twice day. A single episode lasts for 30 minutes to one hour and a half.     Cluster headache is also known for waking up people from sleep with pain. The pain is centered around the eye. Some explain the pain by saying, there is a fire in my eye. During the pain the affected eye redness and nasal congestion occurs. Unlike migraine affected people these people wander around restlessly; they bang their heads against the wall Headaches that are not symptoms of other diseases are caused by enlargement of veins found in the brain and hence inflammation of the area by excreted chemicals. This causes irritation of our nerves in the brain.

The reason headaches also cause other pains like nausea and vomiting is because the irritation of the nerve disrupts the whole nervous system.  For example; Migraines affect The sympathetic nervous system. Then, body processes done by this system are affected as well, such as digestive system.

How to treat headaches
