Eskindir Nega to register people who were not able to get condominiums
Eskindir Nega’s party has called on who had been saving since 1997 E.C/ 2005 G.C in 10/90, 20/80 and 40/60 scales and had not won until now register with him. He stated that he aims to put pressure on government to keep its promise to the people of Addis Ababa. Many residents claim that the draws for condominiums have been unfair. Despite its economic capability, the government had been unable to make a politically fair decision regarding this situation.
W/ro Keria calls Dr. Abiy’s idea a historical mistake
The spokesperson for the council of Federation, W/ro Keria Ibrahim resigned stating that she no longer wants to work with a government looking to store dictatorship by trying to hold on to power looking for loopholes within the constitution. W/ro Keria claimed that threats have been received by members of the council who do not agree with Dr. Abiy’s idea and called this a historical mistake. The council of Federation on the other hand, stated that W/ro Keria had participated in the meetings up to now and never stated her disagreement. the fact that she went to the media first before formally sending a resignation letter to the council shows that she acted with inconsideration to the nations, nationalities and people of Ethiopia she was supposed to represent.
Dr. Debretsion lifts restrictions in the region
Dr. Debretsion stated in a press conference that taking in to account the recent weeks’ protests against the administration in the region and the revival of the region’s economy, some restrictions in place to limit the spread of the pandemic will be lifted.
Tanzania claims victory over the pandemic
The controversial president of Tanzania has claimed that the country is free from the Coronavirus pandemic and had stated that their prayers are the major reason for that. WHO has stated concerns over the way Tanzania is dealing with the pandemic as it had not reported new patients since a month ago. The last report stated that there are 509 cases in general and 21 deaths. The president claims that the pandemic has been overly exaggerated and prayers will gain victory over the pandemic.
